We believe it is beneficial for everyone to take part in meaningful, purposeful activities  and contribute to the local community. To that end, our residents are supported by an experienced, professional, qualified and insured local tradesman to provide quality, cost-effective services and products.

Cavendish House residents initially learn basic multi skills before carrying out quality, inexpensive small handyman services in the local community, all under careful supervision. Examples of the services provided are painting and decorating, small carpentry jobs, fixing shelves, gardening.

Following a potential customer enquiry for our service, we arrange to meet to discuss the handyperson requirements, with no obligation to take it any further. We then provide a quote for the service showing the cost of materials and transport expenses along with a donation/contribution for our residents’ social outings and activities. This donation is instead of any labour costs as the residents are not working as employees but as work experience.  

Residents also welcome commissioned orders for handmade wooden products that they will create for you, from your own designs if you wish. These products include tailor made wooden radiator cabinets, bird tables, bird houses, bird feeders, wooden signs for people, houses or gardens etc. These products are ideal for personalised gifts. They also undertake some furniture repairs/restoration etc. Basically no requests for products or services are too small or unusual for us to consider.
